French President To Visit U.S. In February

Paris (AFP) – French President Francois Hollande will go on a state visit to the United States in February, his office announced Friday.

Hollande and his American counterpart Barack Obama last met at a G20 summit in Russia in September. They have been liaising on key global issues including the Syrian crisis and Iran’s disputed nuclear program.

Hollande has invited Obama to attend the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy in June next year.

The French leader’s U.S. trip will start on February 11, the Elysee said.
